Nominet drop prices on fee's
Nominet the "not for profit" UK domain registry responsible for co.uk, org.uk and me.uk domain names is lowering its fee's for carrying out transfers and tag changes. From October 1st the single registrant transfer fee drops to £10 (was £30) and bulk transfers to £22 (was £60). Also single tag changes will drop from current £15 to £10 and bulk tag changes from £30 to £15 (prices ex VAT). This is seen as a move to solve the "ripoff" domain name trader problem, where registrants have been forced to pay up to £150 to shift a domain to another registrar. Now they will be able to get this done by Nominet for £10. Also Nominet is having to reduce charges to due a surplus reported to be in excess of £3M. Weycrest carries out free IPS tag transfers on UK domain names and will continue to do so. More information at http://www.nominet.org.uk
