Whale Rescue passes Weycrest HQ

Like everyone else we were gripped by the drama of the whale rescue. A 5 Metre bottle nosed whale had become stranded on the River Thames. It had managed to get as far as Battersea before becoming stranded and distressed. Today a rescue mission was launched and the whale was winched onto a barge and taken towards the estuary. The pictures are not too good, as it was getting dark when the barge passed (just opposite the Dome). We tried to get a bit closer on a small cruiser based at Trinity Buoy Wharf. Thanks to Little Indian at TBW for taken me out. We have sadly just learned that the whale did not survive. This is indeed very sad is captured the imagination of a lot of Londoners who lined the banks and bridges of this fantastic river than runs through our capital city. Indeed a reporter has just mentioned that crowds were lining and clapping as the whale passed under the Queen Elizabeth Bridge at Dartford.

One of our customers has put togethor an interesting website dedicated to tracing his family history. Ian Sheppard is explorating his branch of the Sheppard family tree. The site makes use of open source software TNG - "the next generation" of genealogy sitebuilding. The software requires PHP and MySQL. Weycrest hosting plans are fully compatable with it. More information can be found at: http://www.bankbottom.me.uk TNG @ http://lythgoes.net/genealogy/software.php If you are not comfortable uploading the neccessary site files or setting up the MySQL database Weycrest will undertake this free of charge as well as setting up a base configuration.
