Nominet drop prices on fee's

Nominet the "not for profit" UK domain registry responsible for co.uk, org.uk and me.uk domain names is lowering its fee's for carrying out transfers and tag changes. From October 1st the single registrant transfer fee drops to £10 (was £30) and bulk transfers to £22 (was £60). Also single tag changes will drop from current £15 to £10 and bulk tag changes from £30 to £15 (prices ex VAT). This is seen as a move to solve the "ripoff" domain name trader problem, where registrants have been forced to pay up to £150 to shift a domain to another registrar. Now they will be able to get this done by Nominet for £10. Also Nominet is having to reduce charges to due a surplus reported to be in excess of £3M. Weycrest carries out free IPS tag transfers on UK domain names and will continue to do so. More information at http://www.nominet.org.uk

Longer Registration Terms on .com, .net, ,org domains

Weycrest are now giving customers the ability to register generic or global domains for longer periods of up to 10 years, with big savings available. The result is a "dot com" for less than £6.90 a year! There are some advantages in registering domain names for longer namely: 1. The domain is secured for longer, with less chance of loosing a domain due to missed domain renewal notices. 2. Security against future domain prices rices in years 2, 3 and 4 etc.. 3. Their is some evidence to suggest that Google is more likely to "trust" a website linked to a domains registered for longer periods. So this may give a slight edge in terms of search engine rankings. 4. Save money! New Pricing Structure: 1 year .com, .net, .org, and .biz £8.50/year 2 year .com, .net, .org and .biz £8.00 /year 5 year .com, .net, .org and .biz £7.40/year 10 year .com, .net, .org and .biz £6.90/year You can search and register domain name here: http://www.weycrest.co.uk/domain-names.php Currently it is not possible to register a Nominet UK domain (.co.uk, .me.uk, org.uk) for longer or less than two years.
